Today Widget - Guide

Yomu EBook Reader

How to use the Today widget.

Enable

The Yomu iOS app for iPhone and iPad contains a Today widget to quickly view and access your recent books or see your library statistics.

In order to enable the widget:

  1. Swipe right on your home screen
  2. Scroll down to the bottom to Edit widgets
  3. Choose Customize from the dark container
  4. Add the Yomu widget
  5. Change widget order (optional)
  6. Tap on Done to complete

Afterwards, you can access it by swiping right on your home or lock screen.

Widget

You can view your library statistics or access your recent documents directly from the Today widget.

Use Show More/Less to toggle between the compact or extended widget.

The compact view at the top shows the total of books and annotations. Tap on import to add a new book to your library.

The extended view displays your most recently accessed books. Select an entry to launch the app and load the corresponding ebook right at the position where you last left off.

In order to show your statistics and recent articles, the app needs to be running in the background. The widget’s data is then automatically updated to reflect your current state.

Actions

In addition to the Today widget, the library statistics and your recently accessed books are also available as home screen quick actions.

Quick actions are only available on devices that support 3D Touch (e.g. iPhone 6S, iPhone XS). To reveal the actions, press the Yomu app icon, using a bit more pressure than is required for touch and hold.

Like with the widget, simply tap on an entry to continue reading where you last left off.
